The team from Airtec Corporation recently attended Truck Show X 2026, joining transport operators, fleet managers, engineers, innovators and industry leaders from across Australia and the globe for two days focused on the future of the trucking and transport industry.
From emerging technologies and decarbonisation strategies to AI, hydrogen power and next-generation safety systems, this year’s event delivered valuable insights into the direction the industry is heading and the practical steps businesses are already taking to improve efficiency, sustainability and operational performance.
Industry Collaboration Driving Change
One of the standout aspects of Truck Show X was the strong focus on collaboration and knowledge sharing across the transport sector.
The event provided an opportunity for suppliers, operators, manufacturers and technology providers to come together, network and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing modern fleets.
Across the seminar sessions, there was a clear focus on:
- Improving fleet efficiency
- Reducing emissions
- Enhancing safety outcomes
- Adopting emerging technologies
- Supporting long-term operational sustainability
For the Airtec team, it was a fantastic opportunity to connect with customers, industry partners and businesses looking to improve tyre management and onboard mass monitoring.
Seminar Highlights
Truck Show X featured an extensive seminar program covering some of the industry’s most important and rapidly evolving topics. Centred heavily around Technology driving the future. The opening keynote explored the emerging technologies expected to shape the transport sector over the next decade, both locally and globally. Discussions centred around innovation, automation, data integration and how technology adoption will continue to transform fleet operations.
TruckGPT: AI Is Already Transforming Transport
Artificial Intelligence was one of the biggest talking points throughout the event, particularly during the “TruckGPT” session, which explored how AI is already being integrated into transport operations, fleet management and safety systems.
A key discussion point was the integration of intelligent AI assistance within MyGeotab and how AI-powered platforms are helping businesses analyse operational data, improve workflows and support smarter decision-making.
One of the strongest takeaways from the session was the importance of businesses developing a clear strategy around AI adoption, with key themes including:
- Mindset and leadership around AI implementation
- Governance and workplace policy development
- Focusing on measurable return on investment (ROI)
- Building AI literacy across teams
- Cultivating human advantage alongside automation
- Encouraging businesses to “dream big” about future possibilities
Speakers reinforced a powerful message for industry leaders:
Lead AI — or it will lead you.
It was highlighted that approximately two-thirds of workplaces are already utilising AI tools in some capacity, often without formal governance policies or structured implementation plans in place.
Another important discussion centred around workforce development, with presenters emphasising that reskilling employees to work alongside emerging technologies will be far more valuable than simply replacing roles through automation.
The session highlighted how businesses adopting AI early are already improving efficiency, streamlining workflows and gaining operational advantages.
Emission Impossible?
This session examined how battery electric trucks, powered trailers and alternative energy solutions are being implemented to reduce emissions across the industry.
Industry leaders also discussed funding pathways and financial support options available for transport operators transitioning to lower-emission technologies.
Multiquip shared insights into the technologies currently being utilised across their fleet operations, including:
- Electronic Work Diaries (EWDs)
- Fatigue and distraction detection systems
- Advanced telematics
- Live customer dashboards and visibility tools
The discussion highlighted how connected technologies are helping fleets improve visibility, safety, compliance and operational efficiency in real time.
Ctrl + Alt + Decarbonise
Decarbonisation remained a central theme throughout the show, with sessions focused on clean energy financing, emissions reporting and practical implementation strategies for fleets of all sizes.
Discussions throughout the event reinforced that operators are increasingly looking for practical, scalable solutions that balance sustainability goals with operational realities.
Born H2 Run: Hydrogen & Alternative Energy
Hydrogen technology also featured heavily throughout Truck Show X, showcasing developments in hydrogen fuel cell trucks and local deployment projects currently underway in Australian fleets.
Hydrogen was positioned as one of the leading long-term alternatives to diesel for heavy transport applications, particularly for fleets requiring longer range and faster refuelling capabilities.
Speakers explored:
- Lower-emission transport pathways
- Hydrogen fuel cell truck deployments
- Future refuelling infrastructure plans
- The development of hydrogen refuelling networks across Australia
As infrastructure investment continues to grow, the industry is beginning to move from concept discussions toward practical implementation strategies.
Safety Singularity
Safety technology sessions highlighted how next-generation systems are helping fleets address emerging safety risks and improve driver and operational outcomes.
From fatigue and distraction monitoring through to connected telematics and predictive technologies, safety innovation continues to play a critical role in the future of transport operations.
Looking Ahead
Truck Show X reinforced how quickly the transport industry is evolving and how important technology, data and innovation will continue to be for fleet operators moving forward.
The event highlighted the importance of practical, real-world solutions that help businesses improve productivity, safety and compliance while preparing for future industry demands.
For Airtec, the event was a valuable opportunity to connect with industry leaders, learn from emerging technologies and continue conversations around the future of fleet safety, efficiency and onboard mass management.
We’d like to thank everyone who stopped to chat with the team throughout the event. We appreciate the opportunity to connect with so many passionate people across the transport industry and look forward to continuing those conversations.
We’re looking forward to catching up with you again at the HVIA Brisbane Truck Show 2027.
