Privacy Policy – SMS One-Time Passcodes

1. Purpose This policy explains how we collect and use your mobile phone number when you opt in to receive SMS one-time passcodes (OTPs) from Airtec SmartOBM Pty Ltd. It applies to recipients in the United States. 

2. What we collect When you opt in, we collect your mobile phone number, your consent record (date, time and method of opt-in), and delivery details for the messages we send. These details include delivery status and message timestamps. 

3. How you opt in You opt in by entering your mobile number on the Airtec SmartOBM portal (my.smartobm.com) and ticking the consent box that agrees to receive SMS verification codes. We send messages only after you give this consent. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. 

4. How we use your information We use your mobile number only to: send one-time passcodes to verify your identity when you sign in or perform secure actions; protect your account and detect unauthorised access; and keep records of your consent and message delivery. We do not use your number for marketing or promotional messages. 

5. Message details Messages contain a verification code only. They are sent when you request one. Message frequency varies with your use of the portal. Message and data rates may apply. To opt out, reply STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance, or email [email protected]. Opting out means you may not be able to use SMS-based verification. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. 

6. Sharing and disclosure We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) End User Messaging to deliver SMS messages. AWS and mobile carriers process your number only to deliver the message. We may also disclose information where required by law. 

7. Security and retention We protect your information with reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls. We keep your number and consent records only while your account is active or as needed to meet legal obligations. We then delete or de-identify them. 

8. Your choices You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP or emailing us. You can also ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, subject to legal requirements.
